"The Word In The Streets: Arm Yourself with Knowledge"
Schools prepare you academically but what about education that help you make good day-to-day decisions and street I.Q.? This session addresses NC’s version of Stand Your Ground laws and your rights when interacting with law enforcement. We will clarify your rights in real-life application, your freedoms, in light of recent incidents, including the death of Trayvon Martin.

"My Brothers Perception of Me"
We are aware of the stereotypes that often come with being a minority male, but, do we stereotype one another? What is your perception of other minority males? Why is making good grades a bad thing? We will take a look at how minority males view one another and what positive steps we can take to support each other.

Reclaiming The Minority Male Image:
A Discussion of Clips from
"A War For Your Soul" & "Bringing Your 'A' Game"
Reclaiming the African American (AFAM) Image focuses on the historical relevance of
AFAM images throughout various genres of media and how we can help
AFAM males overcome the psychological assaults that exploit who they are and hinder their development. What is
your role in creating a culture of change for high, middle and elementary school men? Will you be a man of substance or are you a lost soul?

Educators and Professionals Critical Dialogue:
Looking at Our Legal Rights: Considering the Laws and Practical Applications
This will address NC’s version of Stand Your Ground laws, as well as the rights of citizens as they interact with law enforcement. We will review constitutional provisions and discuss scenarios regarding how these rights can be preserved in a safe and reasonable manner. We will also discuss the difference between the stated constitutional rights versus the real-life application of these freedoms, in light of recent incidents, including the death of Trayvon Martin.
