HCC students earn Microsoft Certifications in 2014-15
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) is an approved testing center offering Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams for Word, Word Expert, Word Master, Excel, Excel Expert, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook 2013.

The certification is a valuable credential that recognizes the desktop computing skills needed to use the full features and functionality of the software and promotes academic preparedness and workforce readiness for students. The testing is offered at no cost to HCC students, faculty and staff under the Microsoft IT Academy program.

This year, the following HCC students earned Microsoft certifications:
  • Tracy Crocker, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2013
  • Jodie Lawrence, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2013
  • Cassie Lyles, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2013
  • Margaret Ricks, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2013
  • Tamica Webb, Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2013
HCC faculty and staff including Paula Miles and Dana Scott also earned their Microsoft certifications in PowerPoint 2013 and Word 2013, respectively.
