HCC to offer Emergency Medical Services Classes
 
WELDON, N.C. – The Halifax Community College (HCC) Workforce & Economic Development Division will offer three upcoming emergency medical services classes:

  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class will be offered online and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays. The class starts on May 18. This North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NCOEMS) state certified class will allow students to sit for the state exam. The class will be hybrid with online and classroom portions.
  • Pre-EMT class will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, starting June 8. This class will prepare the student with anatomy/physiology and medical terminology background for the EMT class.
  • Paramedic class will be offered online and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays. The class starts on June 8. This NCOEMS state certified class will allow students to sit for the state exam. The class will be hybrid with online and classroom portions.
Those interested must pre-register in the Workforce & Economic Development Office in Building 400. Courses are provided fee-exempt to members of all EMS provider units. The courses are designed to train personnel for various levels of state certification that are required for emergency care providers.
