HCC holds Plus 50 Program Professional Development

WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) hosted Plus 50 Program Professional Development on Nov. 21 in Building 400. The session, presented by AARP-North Carolina Associate State Director Suzanne LaFollette-Black, was called “Taking your knowledge to the next degree” and featured information on techniques and strategies to use in teaching older students. The Plus 50 Program offers older adults tailored courses, flexible scheduling and more.

Many Americans age 50 and up who did not finish college are now heading back to campus. By combining their life and work experience with a degree or certificate in the high-demand fields of health care and education, they are opening the door to new job opportunities.

Call Tiffany Hale, HCC program coordinator at 252-536-6342 or visit www.halifaxcc.edu for more information.
