HCC Child Care Center Teacher honored with National Award

Halifax Community College Child Care Center teacher Catherine Robinson has been selected as a Terri Lynn Lokoff National Child Care Teacher Awards Recipient. Robinson is an instructor in the child care center’s two-year-old classroom.

Fifty exemplary early care and education teachers from across the United States were chosen for their commitment to maintaining high-quality child care practices and dedication to the children they teach.

“We are so proud that Catherine has been named as one of the 50 recipients in the nation,” said Vicki Collier, child care center director. “We are honored to have her on staff in the HCC Child Care Center.”

Complimentary air travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for Robinson to attend an awards ceremony on Apr. 15 in Philadelphia, Pa. She will also receive a $500 award for a classroom project she designed and a $500 stipend.

Since 1994, the Terri Lynn Lokoff Foundation has presented 535 awards totaling more than $500,000 to early care and education providers.
