HCC Child Care Center Teacher honored
with National Award
Halifax Community College Child Care Center teacher
Catherine Robinson has been selected as a Terri Lynn Lokoff
National Child Care Teacher Awards Recipient. Robinson is an
instructor in the child care center’s two-year-old

teachers from across the United States were chosen for their
commitment to maintaining high-quality child care practices
and dedication to the children they teach.
“We are so proud that Catherine has been
named as one of the 50 recipients in the nation,” said Vicki
Collier, child care center director. “We are honored to have
her on staff in the HCC Child Care Center.”
Complimentary air travel and hotel
accommodations will be provided for Robinson to attend an
awards ceremony on Apr. 15 in Philadelphia, Pa. She will
also receive a $500 award for a classroom project she
designed and a $500 stipend.
Since 1994, the Terri Lynn Lokoff
Foundation has presented 535 awards totaling more than
$500,000 to early care and education providers.
