Terrence Boone Scholarship established at HCC

Terrence Boone has established the Terrence Boone Scholarship to support either a Halifax Community College student majoring in graphic arts or a business student with plans for starting his or her own business. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who maintains a 2.3 grade point average or above.

Applicants will need to be active in campus organizations, dedicated and focused on future career goals, and display leadership abilities. Preference will be given to members of Roanoke Salem Baptist Church of Garysburg, N.C.

Boone explained, “This scholarship is established on a foundation of assisting any person determined to succeed in life and to pursue their degree.” He chose to support the business and graphics programs because of the potential jobs available for those graduates in the future.

“This scholarship is for a person who is really determined to succeed in a career. …I want to give back to the area and to assist the college and any person who is pursuing excellence,” said Boone.
