Getting Started with the SSC
If you need tutoring assistance with a class, first contact your instructor/faculty. They will fill out and sign a SSC Student Referral (FTE) Card. It will look like this. Instructor/faculty may turn it in or give it to student to turn in to the SSC. Cards need to be turned in to Iris Johnson, SSCC or Timothy Archer, Assistant/Tutor located in room 149 in the LRC/Library. You will need a Student Referral (FTE) card for each class you need tutoring in.
Student must complete the back of the Student Referral (FTE) card and provide your contact information and the hours you are available to be tutored. SSC will work around your class/work schedule. Please include all available days and times so that we can meet your academic/tutoring needs. Tutoring services are usually provided the same day/week that you make the request. Services are provided on a first come first serve basis. We will contact you as soon as possible to get you started.
We will make every effort to schedule you with a professional and highly qualified tutor to assist you with your academic enhancement.
Your courtesy is greatly appreciated by calling in advance if you are going to be late or can't attend your scheduled tutoring session. Please contact your tutor, Iris Johnson, or Timothy Archer so that others are not left waiting for you.
