The State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) met in Greensboro, NC at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center on September 6 - 9, 2001. District 56 was represented with 15 voting delegates and four from Halifax Community College: Grace Edwards, Betty Hasty, Delores Jones and Lynn Moseley.

The state membership numbers 61,000 strong. The group raises money through various projects to support scholarships. Raffle winners were announced at the recent state meeting. The winner of the truck was James Davis of Knightdale, NC and Shawn Smith won the TV.

The incoming officers for the 2001-2002 fiscal year are Grace Edwards - Chairperson, Whit Bridges - Vice-chair (Whit Bridges is employed at Odom Correctional Center in Jackson), Betty Hasty - Secretary, and Lynn Moseley - Treasurer. Delores Jones is membership chair.
