Locks of Love Cut-A-Thon

The Phi Theta Kappa honor fraternity at
Halifax Community College recently held a cut-a-thon for the Locks
of Love campaign in the Cosmetology Department. Locks for Love is
a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially
disadvantaged children across the United States under the age of
18 who are suffering from a long-term medical condition. |

HCC student, Deborah Wray was the first student who
volunteered to donate her hair for the cause. Deborah received her
Associate in Medical Office Administration in 2001 and is currently
enrolled in the Associate in Arts program.
The cosmetology stylist that cut Deborah's hair was
Renee' Spence.
Other volunteers were Wendy Lee Vaught, Linda Vaught,
Mickey Hewlin, the HCC stylists who cut their hair were Janika Bryant,
Loyetta, Cole & Natasha Fleming.
