Media Appreciation Day
HCC hosted a "Media Appreciation Day" on
April 8 to invite representatives from area media outlets – the
newspapers, television, and radio to spend an hour or two at the College
to learn about our programs and services firsthand. The event was also
an opportunity to thank the media representatives for the coverage they
provide in promoting HCC programs and events.
Following a catered luncheon, the guests were invited
to tour the campus with stops in the cosmetology department, welding
shop, automotive technology department, the library, a distance learning
classroom, the science labs, and the business/computer departments.
Dr. Gasper, Dr. Buffaloe, Patsy Ferguson and
some other campus division heads spoke briefly during lunch, bringing
the audience up-to-date on HCC plans and projects. Guests went away with
a better understanding of HCC programs and services, overwhelmed at the
variety and number of college program offerings and also very pleased to
know how much the college has to offer its community. They also left
quite satisfied after the delicious meal.

Dr. Gasper accompanied the group for part
of the campus tour. The guests were both amazed and pleased at the
state-of-the-art facilities on the Weldon campus.

Dr. Buffaloe spent time with reporters,
adding valuable information to their repertoires.
