HALIFAX ELECTRIC MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION ESTABLISHES SCHOLARSHIP AT HCC

Brady Martin, vice president of marketing at Halifax Electric Membership Corporation, (left) was at the HCC campus recently to announce a new scholarship, donated by HEMC, to help pay college expenses for a student at HCC.

The HEMC scholarship, in the amount of $500, will be awarded annually to a deserving student who will be selected by the .

HCC scholarship committee, following selection guidelines and established criteria.

In establishing the award, Martin stated that the scholarship is open to any student enrolled at HCC for a minimum of six semester hours with a minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5. The recipient also must reside in a household whose electric service is provided by Halifax EMC
