 SENATOR
A.B. SWINDELL SPEAKS AT HCC
State Senator A.B. Swindell spoke to Halifax Community
College students last month as a guest of the English and humanities
departments at the college.
Senator Swindell, a familiar face on the political
scene who lives in Nashville, is a supporter and a former graduate
himself of the community college system. He was a teacher and a coach in
North Carolina before working as an administrative assistant to the
former Congressman, Tim Valentine.
He talked to the students about the current economy
and particularly how it is affecting the future of Halifax County and
the Roanoke Valley. The senator listened attentively to the questions
from the standing-room-only crowd and spent a substantial part of his
hour at the campus answering questions from the audience. |
