Ballance was the guest speaker at "A Tribute to Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr." held Friday evening, January 18, at
Halifax Community College.
The Halifax Community College diversity committee sponsored
this special celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr. and more than 200 guests attended.
In addition to remarks by Senator Ballance, the Roanoke-Salem
Baptist Church Community Choir of Garysburg brought the house to
its feet with rousing special music. The theme for the
celebration was "Diversity through Peace."
