HCC faculty and staff had a surprise hiatus from campus when more than 10 inches inundated the Roanoke Valley and closed the school on the heels of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

The Roanoke Rapids High School students enrolled in the auto mechanics class managed to provide a bit of humor when they constructed this snowman near the auto shop. He was caught, just in the knick of time, before he melted.
