HCC earns first runner-up honors in Red Cross Heroes Campaign

Halifax Community College recently joined in the Red Cross Heroes Campaign, which is a grassroots fundraising effort that takes place during the month of March. Monies raised stay in designated counties. For the HCC campus, this means that donations will benefit Halifax and Northampton counties.

The challenge began March 1 with other colleges including Nash Community College, Edgecombe Community College and North Carolina Wesleyan College participating in the challenge. The minimum each college needed to raise was $1,000.

Results of the campaign are: Edgecombe Community College took the championship, raising $1,182 with HCC earning a first runner-up spot with $1,129 raised. Nash Community College earned a second runner-up position, raising $1,005 and North Carolina Wesleyan College placed as third runner-up with $847 raised. A total of $4,163 and change was donated during the drive.
