Roanoke Rapids High School Transition Academy visits Cosmetology

ABOVE: Students in the 8^th/9^th Grade Transition Academy from Roanoke Rapids High School visited HCC’s Cosmetology department, March 4. This visit was part of the Transition Academy’s “Windows to Your Future” experience. Students’ career interests are surveyed and those surveys are used to create on-site career visits to businesses and colleges. HCC is one site on the list for interested students. According to the academy’s webpage, around 275 students visited career sites last year. During the visits, students received information on careers, the education needed to achieve these careers and employment opportunities, plus a facility tour.
