Halifax Community College
(HCC) Advertising and Graphic Design student Tim Archer
recently won a cover design contest sponsored by the North
Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators
(NCASFAA). The organization held the contest to see who
could create/design its fall conference program cover.
Archer’s work was chosen and he received a monetary prize
for his efforts.
Archer will graduate in May 2008 with an Associate in
Advertising and Graphic Design. Outstanding academically,
Archer is serving as a tutor for computer, graphics and
general interest students who are studying Dreamweaver 8. He
also has custom art for sale online.
During his stay at HCC, Archer assisted with the staging of
the 33-year retrospective art show last fall for the
Advertising and Graphic Design program's 40th anniversary
celebration. He has also designed logos for several special
events and some departments on campus.
NCASFAA’s fall conference was held in October. Goals of the
organization include developing and strengthening the
professional competency of student financial aid
administrators by offering training opportunities, promoting
the enhancement of student financial aid programs by staying
informed about legislative actions, and facilitating
communication among educational institutions, agencies and
sponsors of student assistance funds through the exchange of
ideas and information.
