HCC ATTENDS ANNUAL
N4CSGA CONFERENCE

Halifax Community College
Student Government Association officers Qiana Mann, Jerrold
Williams, Theresa Raymond, and Spinosa Gee, along with Dean
of Student Services & Enrollment Management Barbara
Bradley-Hasty, recently attended the North Carolina
Comprehensive Community College Student Government
Association (N4CSGA) Fall Conference held at the Radisson in
High Point, N.C.
During the conference, delegates received updates on the
community college system and legislation, public
information, and finance as well as heard from keynote
speakers, Keith Smith, vice president of Community Affairs
at Nash Community College, and Althea Riddick, vice
president of Instruction at College of the Albemarle.
Students also participated in leadership workshops and
division meetings.
HCC’s Theresa Raymond serves on the Executive Board of
N4CSGA as the Parliamentarian. Raymond is the Public
Information Officer for HCC’s SGA. She is pursuing an
Associate in Arts degree and currently resides in Littleton.
According to its constitution, N4CSGA seeks to promote
better student government, academic achievement, fellowship
and the exchange of ideas for the advancement of educational
institutions and to provide leadership training. N4CSGA is a
student-based and student-run organization and is comprised
of delegates from each of the 58 community colleges. The
organization began in 1969. |
